Water levels will be rising this weekend. Melting snow and ice this weekend are cause for concern. The Grand River Conservation Authority has put out a water safety statement today, warning of slippery banks combined with cold and fast flowing water this weekend. It's due to the unseasonably mild conditions today and Saturday, that could see the temperature rise as high as plus 11. That will have the snow pack melting into the streams. As well, the GRCA says there's a chance for some ice jams on the water that could lead to some localized flooding. They're advising people, their kids and pets to steer clear of waterways into next week.
