It is a milestone year for the Thamesford Trojans, and a celebration will be held tomorrow afternoon.
THAMESFORD - It is a special celebration for the Thamesford Trojans.
Tomorrow, the Trojans will have their home opener marking their 50th season in Thamesford. Public Address Announcer Alex LeCuyer on what the day will feature.
"There's going to be a bunch of people from the original 1976 team that's going to come out. They're going to help me with the puck drop. Lions Club is offering food and drinks. And after the game, there's going to be a free gathering in the hall where a lot of memorabilia and trophies will be on display."
LeCuyer mentions there will be photos of all 50 teams that have worn the Thamesford Trojans jersey, plus live music, and the Alumni Association will be hosting a raffle for some great prizes. LeCuyer says fans will have a way to show off and support the celebration.
"Yes, we have hoodies, we have sweaters, we have game pucks, and we have a lot of that for sale during this event as well, with our special 50th logo on there."
The Trojans will welcome the Lucan Irish to the Thamesford District Recreation Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
