About 28 people were able to dine-in at College Ave Church yesterday, as Bullwinkle's Eatery returned to its in-person dining format.
WOODSTOCK - For the first time in three years, Bullwinkle's Eatery is open for in-person dining.
Shawn Shapton, the Executive Director for Operation Sharing, says the program offers a hot lunch to members of the public out of College Ave Church from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for a freewill offering.
"Guests are more than welcome to come in and get one meal, two meals, or whatever they require. It is far from the typical soup kitchen model. We provide three and four course meals every single day."
Shapton adds Bullwinkle's has been a staple in the community for several years and the program had to switch to a takeout-only format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Bullwinkle's typically sees between 60 and 100 meals go out the door each day when they offer the lunch service and we are so excited to welcome people back inside."
In-person dining made its official comeback yesterday. Shapton says about 28 people decided to dine-in, while about 30 took their meals to-go. Tuesday's menu consisted of pancakes and ham, chicken noodle soup and green salad, and peanut butter cookies for dessert.
Shapton says the program is run by one staff member and a team of volunteers. If you are interested in becoming one of those volunteers, you can call Operation Sharing at 519-320-1372 or visit their website online here.
