The WFD responded to a fire in the Brick Ponds Wetlands area, a shed fire, and a two-vehicle crash on Highway 403 this morning.
WOODSTOCK - It has been a busy 24 hours for the Woodstock Fire Department.
Crews were called out to a fire close to Springbank Ave and the Brick Ponds Wetlands early this morning. Public Information Coordinator Lisa Woods says the call came in at 1:47 a.m.
"We responded with Woodstock Police who were able to get their drone out because it was about 500 yards back into the bush. So we were able to locate the scene of the fire, access it, and put that fire out."
A few items were on fire and the cause is still under investigation at this time.
Woods says fire crews also responded to two other calls this morning
"We actually responded to the eastbound Highway 403 for a truck vs. SUV crash and we were able to clear that motor vehicle collision very quickly. We also had a fire at the corner of Beale Street and Canterbury Street today in a shed full of extra wood."
No one was hurt in those incidents either.
Woods has this piece of advice for everyone.
"My advice today is to be mindful of combustible materials! Make sure you store them properly and do not have any heart sources or fire-starting sources nearby."
