Oxford County's Ella Shelton and the rest of the Canadian women's hockey team celebrated a 4-0 win over Switzerland at the IIHF Women's World Championship in Brampton last night.
BRAMPTON - It was a great start to the IIHF Women's World Championship for Oxford County's Ella Shelton and the rest of Team Canada.
They shutout Switzerland 4-0 last night. Canada had 49 shots on goal, with Natalie Spooner, Sarah Nurse, Rebecca Johnston, and Sarah Fillier scoring for Team Canada. Ann-Renee Desbiens also stopped 12 shots last night.
Team Canada will be back on the ice tomorrow night for a matchup against Czechia. That game will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the CAA Centre.
