WOODSTOCK - Looks like a lit candle too close to combustible materials was the cause of an early morning blaze on Huron Street in Woodstock. Fire crews were called to the home at 3:30 early yesterday morning. The blaze started in the basement and was caused by the candle.
Also fire officials say the home did not have working smoke alarms. One person was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries while two other people in the home managed to escape safely. Officials estimate the damage to the home will be around $50,000.
