The Canterbury Folk Festival kicks off this evening. Lots of music, fun, and food for all.
INGERSOLL - Ingersoll will be the place to be this weekend as the Canterbury Folk Festival takes over the town.
Things get started on Friday night with a pig roast at 5 p.m in Memorial Park. Headlining the show this year will be Garth Hudson, who is most famous for his time with "The Band". Ingersoll Mayor and Artistic Director for the Festival Ted Comiskey tells Heart FM it is going to be a great weekend for the whole family. "Each morning on Saturday and Sunday starts off with a great breakfast hosted by the Beachville Legion, we have food, music, crafters - we have 40 some odd crafters - there is lots of fun, we have a kid's section, a seniors section and a youth section and best of all the entire festival is free for the whole family."
Some of the other big names playing this year include Tia McGraff, Red Moon Road, Magna Carta, Good Lovelies, Mudmen and the Allen Family Reunion. Concerts run Friday and Saturday night and Sunday during the day and they will have fun events for the whole family all weekend long.
Things kick off tonight with a pig roast in Memorial Park at 5 p.m.
