The holiday break is over, and the Oxford County teams are back on the ice, fighting for playoff positioning.
PJHL - The stretch drive of the Provincial Junior Hockey League season is here, and the Oxford County teams look to strengthen their playoff positioning.
The Woodstock Navy Vets find themselves on the road for a pair of games this weekend, as they are in Tavistock tonight to battle the Braves at the Tavistock and District Recreation Centre, and game time is set for 7:30 p.m. Then, tomorrow, the Vets will be in Dorchester for a date with the Dolphins at the FlightExec Centre, puck drop is also 7:30 p.m.
Next, the Norwich Merchants will be on home ice this evening as the New Hamburg Firebirds will visit the NOR-DEL Arena, and the game will get underway at 8:00 p.m. Tomorrow, the Merchants will take a trip to Wellesley and take on the Applejacks. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Bill Gies Recreation Centre.
Moving on to the Tavistock Braves, they, as previously mentioned, will host the Woodstock Navy Vets tonight at the Tavistock and District Recreation Centre at 7:30 p.m. It will be another home game tomorrow for the Braves as they welcome the New Hamburg Firebirds, with the puck scheduled to drop at 7:30 p.m.
Lastly, in the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans will be at the Thamesford Area Recreation Centre for a pair of games, beginning tonight at 7:30 p.m. as the Mount Brydges Bulldogs come to town. Then, tomorrow, the Trojans welcome the Exeter Hawks for an 8:00 p.m. puck drop. The Trojans will look to beat the Hawks for the second time in 4 nights, as they were able to skate away with a 7-6 overtime win in Exeter on Tuesday.
