The Canadian Auto Workers union reached a tentative agreement with General Motors late last night -- leaving only one of the Big Three automakers without a deal. The C-A-W made the agreement with G-M after reaching a tentative deal with Ford on Monday. The union says it is making progress towards a deal with Chrysler, but will be in a legal position to strike if the talks stall. The union says the G-M deal mirrors the entire Ford agreement, including a 10-year progression to full pay and a hybrid pension plan for new employees, plus cost of living and ratification bonuses. GM also promised to create or maintain 1,750 Canadian jobs and invest $675 million in capital spending in Canada. However, it's unclear what plants will be getting the investment.
