Woodstock's newest retirement living community opened its doors to the public to showcase what living graciously is all about.
Cedarview Gracious Retirement Living on Finkle Street in Woodstock held its grand opening event on Sunday afternoon and offered tours to show off its many on-site amenities, including chef-prepared food, a movie theatre, library, games room, exercise room, chapel, hair salon and more.
"We try to make this a five star plus living style for [residents]," said manager Bill Nichol.
"Our residents feel they live in a five star hotel," echoed manager and Nichol's wife, Anita Nichol.
"It's an independent lifestyle. We supply three meals a day, activities, transportation, maintenance, residents are free to come and go as they please," Anita Nichol said.
The residents tend to agree with the staff that the quality of life at Cederview is suburb.
"It's like living on a yacht," resident Marlene Manderson said. "I just love this place, it's just so beautiful. The service is great, I can't complain about the food. It's just so wonderful."
Resident Elizabeth Fleming "can't say enough," about Cedarview.
"It's just so mind boggling. The food is good, the people are really good. We've got quite a good group of women and men in here," Fleming said.
Cedarview has been in operation since December 20 and while there is still space for newcomers, "we're filling up fast," said Anita Nichol."
"So put your deposit down today," she said.
"We're at the 60 per cent mark for occupancy, and we're just ecstatic on how it's been going here in this community and how we're being accepted," Bill Nichol said.
Cedarview's managers all live on-site and are available 24 hours a day to ensure residents always have someone available to call if they need something.
Cedarview offers all inclusive units ranging from studio apartments at $2,200 to two bedroom units at $4,000 per month.
