The South Gate Centre will serve up drive thru hotdogs, host an online auction and open a pop-up summer patio this Seniors Month.
WOODSTOCK - It's Seniors Month and the South Gate Centre has big plans for this year.
Volunteer Coordinator Bonnie Ward says they're going to kick everything off with a fun drive-thru event on Monday June 14th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"Members and people from the community can drive through to pick up a free hotdog. We also have some other goodies to hand out and we'll all be social distanced."
If it happens to rain, the event will be postponed to Monday June 21st.
The Sun Sensational Summer Online Auction will also kick off on Wednesday June 16th and run until Friday June 25th with all the proceeds going to the Local Roots program. Ward says they will have lots of great items up for grabs.
"We have all kinds of summer themed items from barbeque supplies, camping supplies and we have fun summer outfits and spa activities as well."
South Gate is also going to open a pop-up patio on Friday June 18th. It will be a licensed patio complete with a summer menu. It will also follow the province's requirements for outdoor dining, so all tables will be spaced out and they will be limited to four people.
The patio will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. all summer long but the hours will be extended to 7:00 p.m. on June 18th, July 9th and July 23rd.
