Charlotte Sangers is 9 years old and she will be hosting a charity yard sale for the non-profit organization Cassie and Friends on Saturday, July 23rd.
WOODSTOCK - A nine-year-old Woodstonian is looking to raise some money to help kids living with juvenile arthritis and other rheumatic diseases.
Charlotte Sangers will be hosting the Superstars Charity Yard Sale for the non-profit organization Cassie and Friends on Saturday, July 23rd.
"I'm raising funds because I have arthritis and I'm doing it for Cassie and Friends which helps kids and families. They buy medical supplies for doctors, and they do virtual education, so you know what arthritis is. They connect kids with mentors and help them feel less alone with their pain. I've made a lot of friends like Sophia and Danielle. "
Childhood arthritis can cause permanent physical damage to joints, making it difficult for children to do everyday things like walking and experiencing dealing with chronic pain.
Charlotte's 8-year-old sister Riley will also be helping with the charity fundraiser, selling baked goods and lemonade.
"With the bake sale I'm going to be doing cookies, cupcakes, and muffins and everything is going to be homemade."
Charlotte is hoping to raise $2,000 for Cassie and Friends before September.
The Superstars Charity Yard Sale will be taking place at 816 John Street in Woodstock on Saturday, July 23rd. Everything will begin at 8:00 a.m. and it should wrap up at 1:00 p.m.
