No injuries are reported after a combine and about 5 acres of farmland went up in flames Friday evening.
BOOKTON - About $200,000 in damage is reported after a field went up in flames just east of Otterville.
Fire Prevention Officer Michael Atkins says Norfolk County firefighters were called out to a report of a combine fire in the area of County Road 19 and Little Lake Road Friday evening.
"When the department arrived on scene they found a fully involved combine and the fire had spread to include about 5 acres of farmland as well."
Atkins says they were able to control the blaze in a timely manner.
"The command officer radioed that the fire was in control approximately 25 minutes after the first vehicle arrived on scene."
No injuries have been reported.
The cause has been deemed undetermined and unsuspicious. Fire officials believe it may have been mechanical related.
