Basketball is a growing sport in Woodstock, and that's being hilighted by the first ever "Street Mayor Classic" 3-on-3 tournament. It's being organized by those involved with the Woodstock Chill travel team, as a way to give kids in the community a chance to play some basketball, with their school extra-circulars on hiatus. Co-organizer Dwayne Thomas says it's also in support of the Chill. "Woodstock Chill is the OBA team in Woodstock and the funds and proceeds that are raised from this tournament are going to the juvenile team." Other co-organizer of the event, Kirk White says the tournament will be divided into elementary and high school divisions. "It's an open gender event, it's for the students. As long as you're student age, male or female, let's come in and have fun and support the city. We want to see parents come out as well for support." The tournament is on Saturday, February 9th at College Ave. Secondary School. You need to register by February 3rd. Details are available on Facebook here or here:
