A special event will be held in Woodstock's Museum Square today, ahead of Overdose Awareness Day on August 31st.
WOODSTOCK - An event will be happening at Museum Square to honour Overdose Awareness Day.
The Oxford Mental Health and Addictions Action Coalition (OMHAAC) will be putting on the event today from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
There is going to be a memorial and people will be able to sign the names of those in their lives that they lost to overdose and write a message to honour them. The event will also have Naloxone training and resources about the programs and services offered by the OMHAAC.
A community report will also be shared, which highlights key priority areas the Coalition is focusing on for the next two years.
On August 31st Overdose Awareness Day is observed across the world, and the goal is to raise awareness about the alarming increase in drug overdoses, along with removing the stigma around substance use disorders.
