Connie Lauder has been a Woodstock city councillor for 11 years, and she's looking to add four more.
WOODSTOCK - One of Woodstock's longest sitting city councillors is running for re-election.
Connie Lauder has been serving as a councillor for 11 years now.
"I was on council the Toyota came in, I was part of negotiations to bring in lands from Blandford Blenheim Township and this term I have been on the negotiating team to bring in the lands from Norwich Township; which will be used for industrial and commercial in the future."
She was also around for the opening of the skate park and the Woodstock Art Gallery.
If re-elected Lauder would like to see more doctors come to the Friendly City.
"We need general practitioners in our community. Due to this concern in this year's budget funds were allotted to assist the recruitment so hopefully we can help in that area. It is not one of municipal direction to do that but a lot of municipalities are finding that this is helping getting general practitioners in their locales."
Lauder would also like to see improvements to the downtown area and assist with future boundary adjustments.
She worked as a city employee for 30 years before pursuing her councillorship in her retirement.
