A new four-way stop could be installed in EZT and more accessible parking could be coming to downtown Norwich.
NORWICH/EZT - More accessible parking could be on the horizon for downtown Norwich.
Oxford County Council will be looking over some bylaw amendments during this week's meeting, in response to a request from the Norwich Accessibility Advisory Committee.
If approved by council, the amendments would allow for the designation of on-street accessible parking near the Canada Post Office on Main Street. There would also be a stopping offence for the area around the newly installed pedestrian crossover in front of the post office.
An all-way stop could be also installed at the intersection of 16th Line and Oxford Road 28, also known as Maplewood Sideroad in East Zorra-Tavistock. County staff conducted an intersection review and study, where they discovered an upward trend in the number of collisions and sightline restrictions in the area.
Council will discuss the matter during this Wednesday's meeting, If they decide to move forward, the bylaw would be amended during the September 4th meeting.
This Wednesday's meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. and it will be livestreamed online here. You can also find the full agenda online here.
