The Woodstock Police Service will be very active on social media over the next few days for Crime Prevention Week.
WOODSTOCK - Awareness, Engagement, and Prevention.
That's the theme of this year's Crime Prevention Week, which officially kicked off yesterday and lasts until this Saturday. Police services across the province will be taking shining a light on this including the Woodstock Police Service.
Community Service Officer Shaylyn Jackson says you can expect lots of posts on the Woodstock Police social media pages this week, but some officers will also be meeting with members of the public.
"We do have some presentations and things that are lined up with particular groups. If there is anyone that is looking for any type of presentation or crime prevention information for their community organization they are always welcome to reach out to us."
Jackson shares some of the crime prevention information we can expect.
"We'll be sharing information about meeting in a safe and neutral location if you're doing any buying or selling online. We'll also talk about some frauds and scams and all kinds of different things."
Jackson says they will also be reminding everyone to lock it or lose it. You should always lock up your vehicle, and you should never leave valuable items in plain sight.
