Why Not Us is hosting an event tonight. The Oxford County Culture and Heritage Conference will take place at South Gate Centre from 5 until 9 p.m.
Oxford County - Diversity is growing in Oxford County.
Local organization Why Not Us is looking to build on the cultures and heritage that has come into not only Woodstock but the County as well. Why Not Us is hosting the Oxford County Culture and Heritage Conference tonight (Friday, July 28, 2023) at South Gate Centre.
Member of Why Not Us, Duane Kumala-Thomas is thrilled to be hosting the event and says why the group started.
"We posed the question to ourselves, why not us? Since then, we have been making a stance in the community, and a couple friends of mine and I, and it's been a positive experience."
Kumala-Thomas adds, the event tonight is one that will try and help bring everyone together.
"There's a whole lot of new people in Oxford County, so we want to come together and move together as a unit, not separately."
The conference will take place from 5 until 9 p.m.
Kumala-Thomas stopped by the Heart FM studio on Friday, July 28th to chat with Dan and Marcie. You can listen to the complete interview below.
