Lots of people will be sporting daffodil pins this April in order to support the Canadian Cancer Society.
Daffodils will be sprouting on lapels across
Volunteers will be stationed at grocery stores to accept donations for the pins. Manager of the Oxford Branch Janice Cunningham says there will also be unmanned boxes on counters throughout the month.
"And we'll have the blue and yellow boxes in locations all month long as well. So when you see that box sitting on the counter at a bank or another store make sure you have your pin on, maybe you left it on another coat so buy another one."
Canvassers will also be going door to door to help generate more funds for the Society.
Cunningham says the money raised will be used not just for research, but for their programming here in
"Our support programs, through our information, through our support services like our transportation program, as well as our online support and peer support program matching someone one on one with someone who's been there, done that."
Volunteers are still needed to help canvas - anyone interested can contact the Oxford Canadian Cancer Society at 519-537-5592.
