A 34 year old is facing several charges including assault with a weapon after police responded to a disturbance in the Village of Innerkip on Thursday evening.
INNERKIP - A 34 year old is facing several charges after police responded to a disturbance in the Village of Innerkip.
Police were called to George Street on Thursday evening around 6:00 pm. The investigation determined that a driver went to a home and started arguing with several people. The driver became angry and drove away. A pedestrian in the area had to jump out of the way to avoid being run down by the vehicle and the vehicle did make some impact. The victim suffered minor injuries.
As a result, 34-year-old Shivanand Rameshwar Singh was charged with the following offences:
- Assault With a Weapon
- Dangerous Operation
- Operation While Impaired
- Operation While Impaired-Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.
