WOODSTOCK - Southwestern Public Health is looking to speak to the owner of a dog, involved in a biting incident Monday morning on Woodall Way in Woodstock.
The incident happened around 11:25 this morning and the dog and it's owner are both unknown.
The Health Unit is looking for information about this dog to assess the risk of exposure to the rabies virus.
If the dog isn't tracked down, then the person who was bit, would have to undergo a series of painful rabies vaccinations as a precaution.
The dog is described as a large, black-coloured mixed breed with white fur around its face and neck, potentially a black lab cross. The owner is a woman described as older, wearing a pink waist length coat and light-coloured toque.
If you have any information about a dog that fits this description or are the owner, please contact Southwestern Public Health at 519-421-9901 or 1-800-922-0096 and speak to a public health inspector.
