You can now donate gently used children's winter gear for the 7th annual Warm Up Woodstock fundraiser. The donations will be distributed during an open house on November 25th.
WOODSTOCK - It's a chance for families in need to get winter gear for their little ones.
Tim Howard from Heartland Farm Mutual is teaming up with Good Beginnings once again for Warm Up Woodstock.
"Seven years ago was when we first started. It was pretty small then, it has really grown every year, to the point where the board room at Good Beginnings is pretty full."
Kym Huska, Director of Communication and Project Management for Good Beginnings, says they're now accepting donations of children's winter clothing.
"We're looking for anything that children would wear when they are outdoors playing, obviously in the wonderful winter wonderland. So, winter coats, snow pants are a huge need, winter boots, scarves, mittens, anything you would want to bundle up your little one."
Huska says the community does a great job supporting the event and the condition of the items dropped off are usually in very good condition.
Donations can be dropped off at any Good Beginnings locations, C&D Lanes in Woodstock, and the Heartland Farm Mutual office in Thamesford.
The donations will be distributed at an open house on Saturday November 25th from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. There is no registration and the event is free for families.
Tim Howard and Kim Huska stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Tuesday October 24th. You can listen to the full interview below:
