Multiple groups came to share their green initiatives at the Woodstock Hospital.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Hospital celebrated Earth Day with an annual event.
During the event, multiple booths from around Woodstock and the County displayed their green initiatives. Director of Capital Projects with the Hospital, Christopher Marion says Woodstock Hospital is happy to be celebrating the day.
"The Hospital has been celebrating Earth Day since 2015, in this formal event. The idea of the event is to bring a bunch of community partners and explain what they are doing good for the environment and what the hospital is doing good for the environment."
Marion also took the time to explain what one of their projects is this year to help preserve the earth. He says there is going to be a garden called wildflower meadows.
"We're trying native, indigenous flowers, planted here at the hospital to try and get patients to connect with nature. This creates a place of respite and a healing environment."
Also on hand were Woodstock Transit, Norwich Plastics, and Oxford County's Waste Management, among others. If you could not attend the event and want to learn more about what the hospital is doing to stay green, you can visit anytime.
