The Oxford County Junior Farmers are getting ready for this year's Embro Truck and Tractor Pull.
EMBRO - It's that time of the year again.
The Embro Truck and Tractor Pull is coming up on Friday August 3rd and Saturday August 4th. They will have local farm tractors on the Friday evening the modified truck and tractors on the Saturday.
Volunteer Coordinator Virginia Janssen says each competitor will be hooked up to a special sled when they hit the track.
"As the truck or the tractor gets further down the track, the sled has a big weight box on it that actually moves closer to the tractor the further they get down the track. That makes the pulling harder and harder the further they go, allowing us to hopefully try to stop everything."
Janssen says they will be welcoming pullers from far and wide this year.
"One owner drives two tractors and they are from Ottawa. We also bring in the locals, there's one person competing from the Norwich area. There are a few local competitors as well as the ones from across the province so it's really a great event to see what this province has to offer in terms of truck and tractor pulling."
Admission prices are as follows;
$15 for adults (single day)
$5 for kids (single day)
$25 for adults (weekend pass)
$8 for kids (weekend pass)
Free admission for kids under 5 years old.
Oxford County Junior Farms will distribute all of the proceeds raised to local organizations and causes.
