Volunteers are ready to and willing to help tutor Elementary students in English and math over zoom.
OXFORD COUNTY - Operation Sharing's Extended Family Project has volunteers ready and willing to help students learn through Zoom.
The program offers tutoring in math and English for students up to Grade 8. Coordinator Eric Schmiedl says they have decided to make the program virtual, to help students, who might need some extra support right now with online learning.
“People have been hesitant – and rightly so- in making use of face-to-face volunteer opportunities during the Pandemic. Therefore, we are making the move to Zoom.”
Students who wish to take part can email Schmiedl at ericschmiedl@yahoo.ca or call 519-539-5926.
Extended Family has been operating for more than 15 years and offers a walk-the-walk approach, linking volunteers with people in need.
