The Safe Cycling Committee is holding their Family Bike Ride and it is set to be bigger and better this year
INGERSOLL - The Ingersoll Safe Cycling Committee is hoping to double up on the success of their Family Bike Ride.
Chair of the Ingersoll Family Ride Denise Does say they are hoping to attract even more people this year. "We have a few extra activities going on. We'll have a scavenger hunt for the young ones and just a little, quick ride around the partial track that is beside the Victoria Community Centre. And the registration will take place there as well, so if you're coming down Wellington street by Victoria Community Centre you'll be able to see the registration."
This is the second year for the Family Bike Ride. This year they have added a 20k bike route as an extra challenge, but they will of course be offering the 5k and 10k options as well. "The 20k ride is a bit challenging just because of the terrain of Ingersoll itself goes up and down, but I think most people with average ability should be able to do it. Maybe a few sore muscles after, but definitely doable for most people," assured Does.
The ride is Sunday May 24th, starting at the Victoria Community Centre in Ingersoll. All ages are welcome - the committee would like to break last year's record of just over 100 people. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.
The committee has also arranged for some special mystery prizes for the event which will go rain or shine. The event will be cancelled if a thunderstorm rolls in - updates can be found at the Ingersoll Safe Cycling Committee's Facebook Page.

And of course, because it is the 'Safe Cycling Committee', helmets are required for all participants.
