Woodstock teen is identified as victim of fatal collision in Middlesex County Monday afternoon.
MIDDLESEX CENTRE -- A three vehicle collision has claimed the life of a Woodstock teen.
Middlesex OPP say around 1:15 pm Monday afternoon, 18 year-old Cassandra Hawkins was travelling westbound on Medway Road, east of Clarke Road when she attempted to pass a westbound transport truck.
Hawkins' lost control of her vehicle when she hit the south shoulder of the road causing her to collide with the trailer of the transport truck. Her vehicle then entered the path an eastbound, unloaded dump truck.
Hawkins was rushed to hospital with what police described as life-threatening injuries, where she succumbed to those injuries.
Police say the driver of the dump truck suffered non-life threatening injuries while the transport truck driver was uninjured.
The OPP Technical Traffic Investigation were on scene to assist with the investigation.
