Federal public service workers must prove full vaccination or face leave without pay.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland have released details of Canada's new COVID-19 mandatory vaccination policy.
Federal public service workers have until October 29th to prove they have received both shots.
Employees who fail to do so will be forced into an unpaid leave of absence as of November 15th, as well as take an online training session on the topic of COVID-19 vaccines.
Th policy applies to staff working remotely as well as from the office.
It also applies to employees working outside of Canada.
Officials say exceptions will be made for religious reasons, or anyone who can prove a medical exemption.
Partially-vaccinated workers will have 10 weeks to get their second shot before being put on unpaid leave.
Meanwhile, effective October 30th, air and rail travelers must prove they received both vaccinations at least two weeks before hopping on an airplane or a train.
