The toy drive has donated over $150,000 worth of toys and gifts over the past five years.
WOODSTOCK - The Hunter Weston Memorial Toy Drive is back for another year.
Nolan Petch was seven years old when he started it back in 2020 in memory of his cousin who passed away at four years old after a battle with Neuroblastoma.
All of the donations go to the Children's Health Foundation in London. Nolan's mother, Tarnya Petch, helps with the toy drive every year.
"We are looking for any new unwrapped toys. We do collect newborn to age 18 because that is what the children's hospital does service. It's harder to buy for kids that are older, so we suggest gift cards or monetary donations. The gift cards and monetary donations are donated to the Children's Health Foundation so they can fill those lists for the kids that are older and the gift cards are put into stockings. They make sure that Christmas morning is as normal as possible while they're in the hospital."
The Woodstock Navy Vets will also be holding their Fill the Net Toy Drive during their home game against the New Hamburg Firebirds on Saturday December 6th, with all of the donations going to the Hunter Weston Memorial Toy Drive.
Tarnya says all donations have to be in by December 9th, so the donations can be delivered on December 10th.
"I can make arrangements to pick up or drop off. We also have two great community partners this year! Revel Realty on Huron Street and the Jennifer Gale Group on Dundas Street have also offered to be drop off locations."
You can contact Tarnya by sending an e-mail to petchfamily222@gmail.com.
