Food for Friends Stopping in Ingersoll

Operation Sharing will be shutting down the Food for Friends program in Ingersoll this December.

INGERSOLL - A food program in Ingersoll will be coming to a close.

Operation Sharing's Food for Friends program will stop running on December 23rd, which will be the last day to get cards that can be used at participating grocery stores. The cards given on the 23rd will be good until January 5th of next year, and after that anyone using the program in Ingersoll would have to continue in Woodstock.

There will continue to be other programs run in Ingersoll to help those that are in need. Those programs include; Cycles of Life Outreach Table on Tuesdays from 1 until 3 p.m. at Masonic Hall, STITCH Supper Club on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at 118 Church Street, the Salvation Army Food Bank, which by appointment and you can call 519-485-6961, and there is also the Ingersoll and District Inter-Church for emergency food hampers by calling 516-933-7730.

Operation Sharing understands the challenges that could come from the change, and also want to show how grateful they are to the community partners who provide support in Ingersoll. The organization says they remain committed to making sure everyone has access to food resources when needed.
