Brant County - Some more jobs will be coming to Brant County with Ford Motor Company of Canada building a new distribution centre in Paris.
The centre will be built at the corner of Rest Acres Road and Highway 403. It will be a state of the art building at 562,000 square feet. This is one of the two new distribution centres being built in Ontario to expedite parts delivery time to dealers.
Brant County Mayor David Bailey says they welcome the new addition to the county with open arms.
"The County of Brant continues to search out and secure opportunities to stabilize and grow our local economy. This includes attracting and supporting small, medium and large businesses such as Ford. We want to be a place where people can live, work and play all in their own community and attracting employers such as Ford, continues the County in the right direction."
Vicano Developments Limited was successful in negotiating a long term lease agreement with Ford to construct and lease the new Ford distribution centre on a 30 acre parcel of industrial land it owns facing Highway 403.
Construction of the new facility started in May of 2021 and the facility should be ready to open by December 2022.
