Kids in Blandford-Blenheim have a youth program to hang out and play in.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - Blandford-Blenheim's youth program is giving kids a reason to get out and have some fun.
Public schools in Drumbo and Plattsville open their gym doors for kids looking to play games and activities.
Acting Manager of Community Services Trevor Baer says the kids are involved in different activities every time.
"Kids just come in, they sign in when they get there and they sign out when they leave, and we play hockey to dodgeball to whatever the kids want to do that night we kind of do."
The youth program is in partnership with the Drumbo and Plattsville Lions Club and the Thames Valley District School Board. The centre opened in March last year and it brought in an average of 30 kids a week.
Since opening last year, Baer adds it's a popular place.
"We're averaging around 25 to 26 kids and we started in October 2018 this year."
The program is open every Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:30pm. It is free to attend.
