Oxford Fresh is ready for spring with a few events highlighting local food, especially Oxford County cheese.
Spring is in the air and Oxford Fresh is reminding everyone to get out and enjoy the County this year.
The Oxford Fresh maps from last year are still available and will show you where all of the roadside stands and local spots are in the County. Fresh asparagus will likely be available around Mother's Day. Communications Administrator Amy Matheson tells Heart FM they are really excited to launch the cheese trail this May.
"Now that the green grass is finally visible it is starting to feel a little bit like Spring so coming up in May will be the launch of the cheese trail. So the cheese trail kickoff will be on the 13th and 14th of May and stay tuned for more details about that because it is going to be an exciting weekend when we launch that trail."
Also coming up this Spring is the Dairy Capital Cheese show in Woodstock on April 23rd.
"So that is going to be a huge event, celebrating Oxford County as the dairy capital and all of the wonderful cheeses that we have in and around the County."
Matheson also notes that Oxford Fresh maps are still available across the County and will direct you to all of the farmers markets and roadside stands in the County.
"The great thing is that all of the farm markets are all still open and ready for residents to come visit their markets and their farm stores."
