One team will walk away as champions as the Gord Marshall Memorial tournament wraps up today.
INNERKIP - The champions of the Gord Marshall Memorial Tournament will be crowned today.
It's been four days of top notch fastball as some of the best in the province hit the diamonds to show their stuff.
Media Relations Coordinator Kyle Smith says the newcomers have really come out and given the veterans a run for their money.
"To still be getting new teams at year 14 it says something about what we're doing out in Innerkip and the type of quality tournament that we're putting together."
Win or lose, Smith says most teams come out just for the calibre of play they took part in this weekend.
"You play against the best teams in Ontario. We've always drawn quality teams for people to play against. Teams just want to help and they want to be a part of it but more than that they want good competition and we've been able to give them that."
The playoffs are happening all morning right up until the finals at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. this afternoon.
