Environment Canada Meteorologist Trudy Kidd is predicting a green Christmas for Oxford County this year.
OXFORD COUNTY - Some bad news if you were holding on to hope that we might get a white Christmas this year.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Trudy Kidd is quite confident that Oxford County will have a green Christmas on Monday.
"Even if we were to get some of the white stuff during the day or at night, it's not going to last. Our temperatures are all above freezing for here on out."
We can expect above-normal temperatures for the next week in the Friendly City. Minus 1 is the daytime average for this this time of the year, while minus 8 is the average low.
Kidd says a green Christmas isn't out of the ordinary for the Woodstock area.
"If you were born in 1997, the chances were that 48 percent of your Christmases were white. So a little less than 50/50."
It certainly didn't feel like it, but yesterday was the first day of winter in Oxford County. Kidd is predicting warmer temperatures over the next few weeks, but you should always be prepared.
"Even though we might expect warmer and potentially dryer conditions for an El Nino winter in this area, we can still get freezing rain events and snow storms, so it's important not to let your guard down. Make sure you prepare and look at your forecast for where you are and where you might be going."
