Habitat for Humanity is inviting everyone to come out, have some lunch, and see the work happening on Main Street.
WOODSTOCK - Habitat for Humanity is having a charity BBQ to support the Woodstock build.
The BBQ runs from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. on Friday across the street from the two Woodstock builds at 640 Main Street. Regional Development Coordinator Alison Kampman tells Heart FM the two Woodstock builds have been going great and they are almost ready to put the roofs on. "I believe that the homes are both framed and I believe the roofs are going on in a week or two. The build is a bit delayed because of some issues we had with the framers however the two families should be ready to move in by the fall."
One family consists of a young mother and her son and the other family is a family of five with two parents and three children. Kampman says they will be serving up hamburgers, sausages and cookies at the BBQ and all of the proceeds will go towards the local builds. Scotiabank has also agreed to match any donations made at the BBQ. Heart FM's morning team Shelby and Lainger will be at the BBQ as well.
