Habitat for Humanity is looking for a family in Tillsonburg for their next build.
TILLSONBURG - Habitat for Humanity is looking to build their next project in Tillsonburg.
Right now they on the hunt for a family in need of affordable housing.
General Manager of Partnerships and Programs for Habitat for Humanity Heartland Sharon Brennan says they will be hosting two meetings in Tillsonburg.
"We'll be giving them information on our Home Ownership Program; they can take a pre-application and fill that out and then we'll get back to them and have a chat about qualifying for a Habitat Home and what that means."
To qualify for a Habitat Home a family needs to be paying a significant portion of their income on housing as well as meeting a few other stipulations.
"They're willing to volunteer - 500 hours is what one must volunteer to qualify for Habitat housing - and then they also have to have an ability to pay an interest free mortgage geared to their income."
The meetings will be held at the Tillsonburg Public Library on Thursday October 6th. The first is at 12 p.m. and the second is at 6 p.m.
