PJHL - The Woodstock Navy Vets and the Tavistock Braves are both one win away from advancing to the second round of the PJHL playoffs.
The Navy Vets beat the Dorchester Dolphins 7-2 last night, taking a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven first round series. Cooper Vickerman scored twice and added three assists while Owen Ireton also had two goals and added two assists on the way to victory.
Game 4 is scheduled for Friday night at Southwood Arena with a 7:45 p.m. puck drop.
Meanwhile, the Braves have also taken a 3-0 lead in their first round series against the Paris Titans after celebrating a 7-4 victory last night. Game 4 of that series is scheduled for 8:40 p.m. tomorrow at the Tavistock and District Rec Centre.
The Norwich Merchants and the Thamesford Trojans had the night off last night, but they will both be back in action tomorrow night. The Merchants will visit the New Hamburg Firebirds for Game 3 of their series at 7:30 p.m., while the Trojans take on the Aylmer Spitfires for Game 4 of their series at 8:15 p.m..
The Norwich vs. New Hamburg series is tied at 1-1 and the Trojans lead the Thamesford vs. Aylmer series 3-0.
