Environment Canada says the warmer temperatures will not be sticking around for Halloween on Tuesday.
OXFORD COUNTY - It doesn't feel like late October when you step outside right now.
Geoff Coulson, a warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment Canada, says we haven't broken any records but it was pretty mild in Oxford County last night.
"Normal overnight lows for this time of the year are around 2 or 3 degrees and we stayed well above that overnight. Lots of cloud cover helped keep the temperatures up as well as continual wind from the south and southwest, bringing with it these much milder than normal conditions."
The average daytime high for this time of the year is 12 degrees. Coulson is predicting more seasonal temperatures for this weekend, and it could drop slightly below the average for Halloween next week.
"Right now a number of the models are indicating that by the time many of the kids are heading out trick-or-treating in the early evening hours next Tuesday, we could be looking at temperatures around 4 degrees or so."
But he says families in the Woodstock area should not have to worry about bringing an umbrella with them.
"Some areas further to the north up towards Bruce Peninsula could be dealing with a little bit of shower or flurry activity. Down towards the Woodstock area it just looks like the cooler than normal temperatures, but things should be relatively dry."
