Extreme heat and humidity have prompted a heat warning and a thunderstorm watch.
OXFORD COUNTY - Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Oxford and Brant Counties.
Hot and humid conditions will continue today with temperatures expected to reach the low thirties, but feelingmore like 40 with the humidex.
Relief should come tonight, when a cold front will cross Southern Ontario tonight.
Extreme heat affects everyone.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
A reminder to never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
In addition there is a watch for severe thunderstorms as well. Residents should watch for the possibility of one late this morning and this afternoon as a cold front moves through from the northwest.
The main threats are damaging wind gusts of 100 km/h and torrential downpours giving 25 to 50 mm of rain in under an hour.
