It's scheduled to arrive at 199 Winniett Street at 6:50 p.m.
WOODSTOCK - The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train is back on the tracks and is about to roll through Oxford County.
It will be stopping at 199 Winniett Street in Woodstock at 6:50 p.m. today.
The train will be decorated with beautiful lights while Smash Mouth and JJ Wilde hit the stage with some Christmas music. However Kristen Broadhagen, the Manager of Special Events for the City of Woodstock, says that's not what it's all about.
"The point of the CPKC Holiday Train is they accept non-perishable food donations. They have actually raised 5.4 million pounds of food for community food banks and $26 million over the years!"
The donations collected in Woodstock this evening will benefit the local Salvation Army, which will also be on site serving up hot chocolate. The City will also have some bleachers on site this evening and they will hand out some glow sticks as well.
Broadhagen says the Holiday Train is very popular, so she has this piece of advice for those planning to attend this evening.
"Arrive early! There will be some road closures in the area with no parking. So check out our website cityofwoodstock.ca/holidaytrain to find parking options lists as well as a map."
You should also dress warm for the evening.
The train will depart for London at 7:10 p.m. and you can find more information online here.
