A familiar face on the political scene in Ingersoll is seeking re-election.
INGERSOLL - The current Deputy Mayor of Ingersoll is looking to be re-elected. Fred Freeman is a familiar face on the political scene in Ingersoll and has served the town for the past 15 years, 12 years of which as Deputy Mayor.
Freeman says he has a few things on his list to tackle if elected.
"Everyone knows the fight with the landfill will be never ending, and we will certainly continue to fight that fight."
Freeman is optimistic and feels the town's financials are in great shape and he is looking forward to hopefully working with future council to continue on that path.
A career highlight for the grandfather and realtor is bringing the Fusion Youth Centre to Ingersoll.
"It has been working out really well and it has been a cornerstone for youth services in Ontario as far as I am concerned and we have had many people come and visit from Ontario and the US."
Freeman remains steadfast in his political career with the position and believes he has some unfinished business to tend to if re-elected.
If elected, Freeman says he would continue to address the possibility of boundary adjustments with South-West Oxford bringing an additional 1000 acres to Ingersoll, as well as fight to prevent the landfill from coming to the town.
