Hot Summer Expected for Oxford

Environment Canada says we'll have above seasonal temperatures for the most part.

OXFORD COUNTY - It's the first day of summer and there's good news for those who enjoy the heat.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder says we can expect above seasonal temperatures for the most part.

"That's not to say that every day and every week is going to be a high temperature. There will be variation but when everything is considered, expect above seasonal temperatures."

The average daytime high is around 25 or 26 for the end of June. Flisfeder says it reaches the high 20s by mid to late July, and gradually decreases for the rest of the summer.

He is expecting daytime highs in the low 30s early next week.

"Hot, humid temperatures through the weekend and early next week. There will very likely be a heat warning in effect so if you have any outdoor activities planned, maybe consider postponing or have a plan in place for how everybody can stay cool and safe."
