Woodstock City Council pushed replacement of the Community Complex's HVAC system forward, citing financial reasons.
WOODSTOCK - The Community Complex will be receiving a new HVAC System a little sooner than originally expected.
The buildings heating, cooling, and ventilation system was supposed to be replaced in 2018. Woodstock City Council voted to move the HVAC replacement to this summer when the refrigeration unit undergoes a retrofit.
Director of Parks and Rec Brian Connors explains why the two projects will be completed at the same time.
"It's all part of one cycle, one unit. We were going to do it in phases but it is cheaper now to do it together."
The new HVAC system will cost the city $740,000. That money will be coming out of the Interest of the Hydro Reserve Fund and will be reimbursed through the Municipal Building Reserve or Capital Budget in 2018.
The refrigeration retrofit and the HVAC replacement together will cost a total of $1,812,900 plus HST.
