The rapid response and hard work from our local firefighters likely saved the building from suffering major fire damage late last night on Montclair Drive.
WOODSTOCK - Nobody was injured after a small fire at DuraCap International in Woodstock on Montclair Drive.
Fire crews were called to the industrial building last night just before midnight. Within minutes they had the relatively small fire extinguished. The amazing work from our local firefighters likely saved the building from suffering major fire damage.
The fire did cause about $100,000 in damage to property and machinery inside the building. An investigation revealed the fire was caused by an accidental ignition due to thermal and mechanical failure of capacitors.
As a reminder the Woodstock Fire Department wants to remind business owners and employees that everyone in a workplace plays an integral part in fire safety and fire prevention is everyone’s business. It is important for each person in the workplace to read and understand all fire safety procedures and precautions within their place of work.
If you require assistance or have questions please contact our Fire Prevention Division at (519) 537-3412 extension 5203 or you can also get safety information from the Woodstock Fire Department website, accessible from www.cityofwoodstock.ca website.
