The Town of Ingersoll has gotten 78 acres of land from Grobrook Farms. Ideas for the land include outdoor space, recreational use, among other ideas.
INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll has acquired 78 acres of land.
The land is from Grobrook Farms and is located on the southeast edge of the Town limits.
At least 30 acres of the acquired land will be designated for open space and recreational purposes, further enriching Ingersoll's outdoor activities and leisure offerings.
Discussion on financing the development of a new Multi-Use Recreation Centre will be included in a report scheduled for presentation to Council on Monday.
In the report to be considered by Council, staff have identified that the recently secured parcel of land not only mirrors
the advantages of the initially selected location for the MURC but also presents a surplus of recreational space.
Approximately 12 acres of industrial land could be available for sale.
This could open up exciting opportunities for future industries to establish themselves in Ingersoll, fostering economic growth, job creation, and additional industrial assessment.
In a release, Ingersoll Mayor, Brian Pietrie says, "In extending our heartfelt appreciation to the Grobrook Farms, we acknowledge their unwavering commitment to giving back to the community. Their generosity has set Ingersoll on a firm and stable path, ensuring the continuity of reliable services for our community."
In the same release, part owner of Grobrook, Nick Groot says, "We are delighted to play a role in expanding the green spaces within the Town of Ingersoll. Our donation is a reflection of our commitment to sustainable development
and the well-being of the residents. We look forward to seeing the positive impact these enhanced recreational areas will have on the community."
The Town of Ingersoll looks forward to working closely with Grobrook Farms and the community to transform this land into vibrant, welcoming spaces for future generations.
