Ingersoll Mayor Ted Comiskey is asking everyone in his community, especially young people to continue to maintain social distancing and encourages residents to report violators.
INGERSOLL - The Mayor of Ingersoll has a message for residents as things slowly start to reopen in the Province.
Mayor Ted Comiskey is urging everyone to stay vigilant and follow the advice of health experts.
"I don't need to express to you how important it is to maintain social distancing but it seems not all in our community are getting it. Young people especially. They do not realize the impact that their decision can make on family and friends. Spread that word and if people wish to report violators the number to call is 1-888-310-1122. Take care everyone."
Comiskey says it's not tattling, if you are reporting people who are breaking by-laws.
"What your doing is saving lives and that is the sad thing, don't consider yourself tattling on people, what you are trying to do, is bring attention to the ignorance that is out there, people think we are back to normal and we are not back to normal. You are bringing that back to your family, your family is then bringing it into nursing homes, and that is where the danger is going to be. So because you are in your backyard right now and you invite a whole bunch of people over, you don't know where everybody has been."
Comiskey did say overall, the residents have been great.
"Ingersoll has done so well, I'm so proud of the people of Ingersoll, they are terrific people and they have looked after each other."
Comiskey says it's amazing to see everyone buying local and encourages everyone to support our local businesses right now.
