Innerkip is the Ontario location for the Junior Men's National Team tryout that will compete at the World Championships.
INNERKIP - Some of the best fastball players in the Province will be coming to Innerkip for a three day tryout.
Innerkip is the only Ontario location for the Junior Men's National Team that will be competing in the World Championships in 2018 in Prince Albert Saskatchewan. Players born between 1999-2003 can try out in Innerkip from June 2-4. Manager of National Teams and Canadian Championships Mike Branchaud explains why they choose Innerkip for the tryout camp.
"They have a great base of volunteers there that do a great job, both in organizing first class events as well as in their minor programs, they are doing quite well in that area. The male fast pitch side in that western part of Ontario is thriving pretty good and they have done great at the Eastern Canadian Championships and the Canadian Championships. Our men's national team is also using Innerkip as one of our parks whenever we are training in that area as well."
The Junior Men’s National Team Coaching staff will operate the camp with the help of area National Team players and Guest Coaches. They are expecting 50 players will be trying out at the training camp. You can find more information online here.
