An Ingersoll man would like to address affordable housing for seniors, if he becomes one of the next town councillors.
INGERSOLL - A local father is entering Ingersoll's municipal election.
John Bell is hoping to become one of the next town councillors.
He moved to Ingersoll with his wife four years ago, and they brought their first son Jack into the world earlier this year.
"Becoming a new father has been the thing that really interested me to invest myself into making a difference in the community where my wife and I will be raising our child."
Bell would like to help stop the landfill if he is voted in next month.
He would also like to bring in more affordable housing for seniors.
"I've seen a number of my neighbours over the past couple of years who have lived here for 30 to 40 years looking to downsize, reluctantly leaving the community because they felt they had no options in town."
Outside of local politics; Bell is currently works for the City of Waterloo in the municipal enforcement division.
